ARES Orientation Sessions
These are Orientation Classes for ARES Members and other interested parties. This class can be taken by the new ARES Member or the current ARES Member for guidance, education, and understanding of the expectations of the ARES organization. Fill out the form on this page to pre-register.
The class will be held in two sessions from 11 AM to 3 PM, on Saturday, October 5, 2024, and October 12, 2024,12:00 noon on Saturday, August 17, 2024. The sessions are expected to run 2-3 hours (even though we have the room reserved for 4 hours.)

Lee County Emergency Operations Center 2675 Ortiz Avenue Fort Myers, FL
The gates and doors will open at 10 AM

- Winlink – Download and install on personal laptops (Windows environment only)
- Install Smart Phone Apps
- Install ARES Stick files on individual laptops

- Discuss Weekly Lee County ARES Net (LCAN)
- Zone Net Tools and Operations
- Basic Radio Programming
- ICS forms ICS-213, ICS-213RR, ICS-214, ICS-309
- Deployment
- Personal Safety
- Types of Deployment Status
- Self-Deployment of ARES members is not allowed. Wait for Lee County Emergency Management deployment instructions via LEE County ARES Leadership
